Theme not activating

  • I recently had to reinstall WordPress. I having trouble with themes. The basic themes seem to be installing, but a previously active theme isn’t working – all that appears is a blank page.

    I was using this theme previously and I reinstalled it several times.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    What’s the name of the problem theme?

    theme? if we know the theme we might offer opinion

    1. have you updated WordPress recently?
    2. Have you added any new plugins recently.
    3. When you reinstalled the plugin did you delete the plugin folder and then re-upload or just overwrite?
    4. as above, what is the name of the theme.

    am having similar problem. when I try to activate a new them it seems to connect to the existing them so the same one just keeps appearing.

    VERY new to all this so quite possible something I have done, but if you could help would avoid much confusion and possible damage to computer…

    ps happening with any theme I choose…

    Hi sorry for the late reply on this:

    The theme is a Gorilla theme called Mainstreet. I have not updated WP recently and there are no new plugins.

    When I re-installed, I deleted the plugin folders and re-uploaded.
