• I want to use my new username to log in at WP and also to be shown at my blog when i create a new blog or modify one post. Instead of showing the first username.

I know how to add a new user and assign roles. But for some reason i can’t ad my new username that i got while creating a new blog, from an existing account.

    Help please.

  • What exact error message do you get when you try to add your desired username?

    “Invalid user name”

I already added and got a new user name and blog from an existing account.
The thing is: I can’t log in using my new user name. I only can log in using the user name I had before. not the new one.
I think is because I created it as a new blog from an existing account.
I can use the new blog signing from my old user name. not with the new one.

But it should allow me to log in with that new user name, and not only with the old one. But apparently doesn’t work in that way.
Maybe I have to delete them and create it independently.

Due to the differences between the free hosted blogs offered at wordpress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably ask your question in the wordpress.com support forums.

    Thank you James,

Do I need to close this post or just leave it like that?
