• I keep getting emails from jetpack that my site was offline for 3 or 8 minutes. These greatly intensified recently, when I used social media to advertise my website, and received a higher amount of views as a result.

There was a period a while back, many months ago, when my website closed down. That time I contacted my hosting provider (Ionos) and they said that jetpack itself was causing it. They’ve refused to help this time, however, saying that it isn’t connected to them.

The last clue I have is that it started (according to Ionos) when I clicked to enable some Jetpack function. I think it had to with security, but I’m not sure. They disabled that feature, and it solved it. Then I forgot, and activated it again. If you know a way to reset Jetpack back to its basic form, that might do it.

Thank you so much for your time and help.

  • Hi @alexanderatoz,

Starting an ad campaign for your site, you would definitely expect to have a sudden surge of visitors to your site. As your hosting provider already informed you that the performance issue is caused by Jetpack, then you should consider examining if your server resources are enough. With regard to Jetpack’s security function, I recommend posting this concern on their dedicated support forum here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/jetpack/

    Have a great day ahead!

the jetpack plugin team and jetpack documentation would provide more accurate guidance to reset jetpack back to it’s basic form – use this link: https://jetpack.com/support/
