• Hi! I’m brand new to WordPress and I’m having trouble getting comments to work on my web site. I need beginner, detailed help on this please! I have the comments.php page uploaded, I have turned discussions ON in the Settings.

    Two problems:

    1. Basically doesn’t work – get a blank page when I click on the form

    2. The basic Comments form is UGLY and I want to edit it to work better for this design. So I need tips on which files to use to make edits.

The site is https://www.healthy-training.com and the comments are on the BLOG page at https://www.healthy-training.com/blog/

    Thank you!

    Susan

  • 1st you need to figure out why the comment form is in a wp folder
    https://www.healthy-training.com/wp/wp-comments-post.php
and the rest of the site isn’t

Samuel. My comments form is not showing up on my wordpress blog homepage even though I have checked for it to be allowed. My website is https://makingmoremoney.us. If you could help, I’d greatly appreciate it.

you are getting a 404 because the comments-post.php is inside a folder clled wp – the rest of your site is not
so, why the wp folder at all?

Thanks for your reply Samuel! I inherited this site, so I’m not sure why it is inside a wp folder. But all of the wordpress documents are within the wp folder:

    wp/
    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-includes
    wp-comments-post.php

I’m concerned, being new to wordpress, that if I move everything out of that folder to the level above it may not work any longer?

    Thanks

I’m having a similar problem. My webmaster bailed on us after creating our WP website and now folks can’t add comments on posts.

I see a comments.php file on the ftp and I have commenting enabled in the “Discussion” settings. Also, I see a wp-comments-post.php in my wp folder.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks.
