Hello I have a WordPress site. Today I cloned the site. But now I see I have the same license key for the new site.

    Therefore I have 2 questions:

    1. Is a new license key only provided with a new fresh install?
    2. Is the free version working correctly on 2 website with the same license key?

Hi @wesleyj, thanks for your questions.

The main problem of the same key making its way on to multiple sites is that some actions are rate-limited by key on our servers, so too many API calls for rule updates with the same key may not succeed.

There’s no limit to the amount of free sites the same email address can register so it can be rectified fairly easily.

The only current way to get additional free keys for all your sites is to go through the free API Key process: https://www.wordfence.com/help/api-key/#installing-your-free-license-key

After obtaining a new key, you can manually delete the one that appears at the top of Wordfence > All Options. When you do this, the blue “UPGRADE TO PREMIUM” button changes to an “INSTALL LICENSE” button.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
