Automatically select the first variation for Color and Size

    Hello,

    we’re using your plugin and we’re very satisfied, we just have one little thing we like to add, and it’s very important to us for the client. We want the first available variation: “Color” and “Size” for the product to be automatically selected on the “Single Product Page”. This is important to us, because for all products we have only one color for the article (we used this design form because we like it) and some sizes, so we would like it to be automatically selected so that the customer can later change the size if they want.

    Because customers don’t see and don’t know that they need to click on that color and choose the size, they don’t see it (we get messages), so it’s very important to us that the first available options for the product are automatically selected (later text will pop up and they can see). So please help us with some code that we could insert via the “Code Snippets” plugin and make it work like that, thanks in advance.

    WooCommerce offers a feature that allows you to set default values for variable products directly in the product settings. These default values will be pre-selected when the product page loads, providing a smoother user experience.

    By utilizing this feature, you can easily configure which values you’d like to be selected by default upon page load.

    thank you very much for the quick reply, this you sent is excellent and does the job we thought for the “Color” variation. The problem with “Size” is that if we put one of the offered ones, there is a big chance that it is not available (or later it will not be available, it is constantly changing), and then customers will be informed that it is not in stock and also maybe a new problem where they will think that the whole product is not available and not in stock (we have long experience with customers, we know how they think, unfortunately :)).

    1. It would be great if, through some custom code, we would add the possibility for the system to select the first available size, if later that size changes and is not available, for the system to change it and select another size that will be automatically selected, we think it’s a problem if we constantly have to do it ourselves. Can you somehow help us with this?
    2. Also, another new problem we encountered in combination with your plugin, so please help us with that as well. We use the “InStock Notifier” plugin, which can display a form on products/variations that are not in stock, where customers can leave their name/email and click “remind me” and when that article is back in stock, to remind them by email automatically. The problem is that this form does not work now for products/variations that are not in stock and the form doesn’t display. We have selected and we want to keep the possibility with Xs (X) for variations that are not in stock to be displayed that way, but also for that form to work for products that are not in stock. Can we make the possibility that this X on the variation that is not in stock exists, but that we can click on that variation with X (not in stock), and after that this “InStock” form to appear? Now we can’t click on that variation with X, which is what causes the problem probably but would like to have this X included. How do we do this, can you help us with that? (screenshot below for example, and another screenshot that this form works if it is clicked on that variation with X that is not in stock – we added some variation size to be automatically selected for a product as you told us in the last reply (this automatically selected size are not in stock), and we can see that this form appears on that product)).     Currently, both features you are requesting are not possible. I will share the two suggestions with our internal team, and they will review and plan based on feasibility.
