Adtribe appearing on a security audit

  • My IT department recently asked me about “Adtibe” for Woocommerce that appeared on a security scan recently. We do not have an account or have your plugin installed. Can you explain anymore about that?

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Can you elaborate a bit more about what “security scan” and what the message was? We are not aware of anything.

    our company runs a security audit on our site using Black Kite. this is the report it sent back:

    de.exac.com (Product: Adtribes Product Feed PRO for WooCommerce 8.2.1 for WordPress)
    cpe:2.3:a:adtribes:product_feed_pro_for_woocommerce:8.2.1:*:*:*:*:wordpress:*:*


    “The system is outdated and has major or medium updates” and then a huge long blurb about what End of life means and a generalized “go update it”

    But we do not have AdTribe or even an account with AdTribe. Could it be bundled into something? We do use WooCommerce, but not for advertising our products. I havent even heard of AdTribe in the 5+ years we have used WordPress until this security IT audit.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply. The report doesn’t really show much details but it does appear you are using version 8.2.1 of our plugin whereas the latest version is 13.2.4. When that is true you are indeed using a really old version of our plugin. You should be able to update it in the plugin section of your WP-admin dashboard.

    The thing is we dont have it installed anywhere in our multisite. I had never heard of AdTribe until this report. Its not in our plugin listing at all. Thats why I thought maybe your plugin might be bundled in something WooCommerce. Would your plugin be a total separate install?

    The plugin “Product feed PRO for WooCommerce” is from AdTribes.io.

    It is not bundled with any other plugin.
