• This shows up only in https://ssnet.org/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?s&comment_status=moderated which is not publicly accessible. I am attaching an image:

Normally, in the left column we would see name, email address, IP address. The “Fake Post” does not exist.

All our comments are moderated, and that’s why we are seeing this. If there were an IP address, we would ban it, but that’s not showing up.

Question: How was this person or bot able to “comment” on a non-existent post? What is going on?

I’m a bit worried about some kind of intrusion, although we have a number of firewalls and other protective measures in place, including the Wordfence plugin. But without an IP address, I can’t tell Wordfence what to ban!

Has anyone ever seen anything similar?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Perhaps the “post” exists… just not something you created yourself?

What happens when you click “View Post”? If there’s a URL, can you share the URL with us so we can examine it to see what this “Fake Post” might be?

Thank you for responding. I’m a bit late back to this … life happens ..

I went through the same thinking process you did. So I clicked on the “fake post.” I got our custom 404 error page telling me there’s no such post. ??

It seems totally weird. Looks like someone testing out the system …
