    Hi,

I have been getting emails and errors from Google via Google Merchant to update shipping info for countries by July 2024. However, when I view the list of countries Google wants me to add the shipping info – they are all countroes I do not sell to. These match the countries I have in my woocommerce datatbase under the, ‘sell to all countries except…’ section.

I can not delete the countries in Google Merchant becasue it says they have been generated outside of Google Merchant ie woocommerce.

Why does Google Merchant want me to add shipping to countries I do not sell to?

All plugins are up to date, the Google Listings & Ads is syncing correctly. I have also asked on woocommerce core thread – please find the link for the thread here where you can see screenshots & status reports>https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/google-merchant-displaying-countries-dont-sell-to/#post-17442018

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

    Regards,

    A

    ?? hi there @agizzie

I have been getting emails and errors from Google via Google Merchant to update shipping info for countries by July 2024.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I went ahead with searching the official announcements, from Google, without being able to spot the specific one. Could you share further details from it?

I can not delete the countries in Google Merchant becasue it says they have been generated outside of Google Merchant ie woocommerce.

Why does Google Merchant want me to add shipping to countries I do not sell to?

After seeing the number of excluded countries, in the screenshot linked here, I’m curious. Could the opposite be possible, perhaps? As in, select only the ones where shipping to is available.

Moreover, how is the shipping information set up on the site? For reference, I am linking to the related documentation, here.

Feel free to provide us with screenshots, so that we can see what you’re describing.

We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi @anastas10s

Many thanks for your prompt reply, I have some more screen shots as requested. Two from my Google Merchant acc, one is an email from Google stating the mandatory shipping info by July 2024, the other is from my woocommerce shipping details inc zones which match the zones listed in my Google Merchant acc – I hope they help.

Don’t think this will work as the woocommerce setting reads, ‘Sell to all countries, EXCEPT for…’

    Hey, @agizzie!

    Thank you for the screenshot!

Don’t think this will work as the woocommerce setting reads, ‘Sell to all countries, EXCEPT for…’

On Woo settings (WooCommerce > Settings > General) you can switch the “sell to all countries except for…” to “sell to specific countries” and then add the ones you do sell to.

Can you please do that and see if it solves the issue?

    Here’s a screenshot:

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    HI @carolm29,

I have now switched the, ‘Sell to all countries, EXCEPT for…’ to “sell to specific countries” as suggested and cleared the site cache. I guess it will take a couple of days for Google Merchant to update. I will post another reply after the weekend to see if it has worked or not.

    Hello @agizzie,

I will post another reply after the weekend to see if it has worked or not.

This sounds like a great idea, as it can take around 3 days?for Google to review merchant account and product data.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi @ckadenge

It’s been a week now and Google Merchant should have updated the feed now. But, no change what so ever. All the countries I don’t seel to, Google Merchant thinks I so and wants shipping details for.

Any suggestions as how to proceed to fix the issue?

    Hi @agizzie,

Have you been able to try the solution proposed by my colleague here?

If you use the?Google Listings & Ads?plugin, please navigate to?Marketing > Google Listings & Ads?and click the Edit button for your Listings. Once the listing edit opens, Instead of All countries, select which country you want to sell. It should resolve your issue.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    All the best,
    Omar

    Hi @omarfpg

Thanks for the suggestion, sorry I missed what you colleague had written on my previous post in the other thread.

I’ve done as your gif suggested, and clicked save.

I will give it a couple of days over the weekend to allow Google Merchant to sync and get back to you.

    Hi,

I have done as suggested via the Google Listings & Ads plugin, as mentioned here> If you use the?Google Listings & Ads?plugin, please navigate to?Marketing > Google Listings & Ads?and click the Edit button for your Listings. Once the listing edit opens, Instead of All countries, select which country you want to sell. It should resolve your issue.

and waited a couple of days for Google Merchant to update and doing the above has had no affect, Google Merchant is still asking for shipping detaisl for counties I do not sell to.

Any ideas as to how to proceed, please advise, thanks.

    ?? hi @agizzie

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this.

I was investigating the site’s System Status Report (SSR), shared here.

Moving forward, let’s go ahead with the following:

    • Keep the correspondence in this thread, as the other is a duplicate
    • Must-use plugins: WordPress automation by Installatron: by –. Just to clarify, did you already have a chance to test with disabling it, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?
    • To clarify, did you already have a chance to perform a?conflict test, as detailed here, and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?
    • WooCommerce Database Version: 8.5.2 – Kindly update the WooCommerce database to the same (8.6.0) version, using the dedicated button found in the screen at?‘WooCommerce > Status > Tools’.

We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi @anastas10s

    Thanks for your reply.

I have updated the Woocommerce database as requested – I will wait a couple of days for the feed to sync again and to see if the problem still exists. I’ll then try the other things you suggested. If I do them all now, then there will be little chance of us knowing what worked.

After updating the WooCommerce datatbase, I can confirm there has been no change on Google Merchant after a couple of days.

I have switched to a default theme and will wait another couple of days to see if any different, and will report back
