• im reading https://www.goodwebpractices.com/roi/track-downloads-in-google-analytics-automatically.html and there is a file ga.js that i have included in my header.php file (Twenty Ten) to try and track what FLV clips which are embeded on my wordpress site are watched the most.. this link above says to put the code just above the regular analytics code but im not sure how to, i am using google analyticator plugin. i cannot post a link to my site at this time, is there any pointers anyone can think of to try, i installed it last night i cant seem to see any action on my analytics page.
are there any other methods to track what videos people are clicking on through my wp install? there flv embeded.
    thanks!

  • event tracking code just needs to be added to the page’s HTML, so the method you use really depends on where you need to place it.

I don’t know that plug-in — I insert GA code directly into the header or footer file (older versions of GA code were in the footer; now GA is supposed to be in the header).

So maybe you don’t need that plugin and you can just edit your header.php file and then insert your tracking code along with the GA code.

And even if you continue to use the plug to insert GA, you should be able to get the tracking code in by editing the header (or footer)
