    Hello,

another question regarding Google Tag Manager and Complianz and the Consent Mode v2.

I read the other posts, but I’m still confused which Guide/Documentation to follow and which one is outdated.

I bought the premium plugin yesterday to use the consent mode v2.

We are using Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and also track certain User interaction with custom events (Submitted forms, Clicks on certain buttons etc.)

I used the guide “Configuring Google Tags with Tag Manager” on this page, imported the GTM Gallery Complianz Template etc.
    https://complianz.io/consent-mode-for-7-0/

I checked the consent with the js script on this page and some things seem to work (denied/granted etc.), but I’m still figuring out if everything’s is working as intended.
    https://complianz.io/consent-mode/

Now, to the things I’m confused about:
    1. Is using the full GTM Container Template still recommended with Consent Mode v2? There is a red notification bar on “content-mode-for-7.0” that that seems to suggest that.

Right now, I just imported the Community Template and added “analytics_storage” to the GA4 Integration, which was suggested in the Guide here: https://complianz.io/consent-mode/

    2. Do I need to reconfigure my events/tags, and if yes, should I use this guide? https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/

    3. Google Analytics is still not receiving any consent signals and is asking me to configure something. Not sure if my whole setup is screwed and I need to start over with the full GTM Container Template etc.

Help is greatly appreciated. Right now everything is a bit blurry and I’m not sure what to do in what order.

    Thanks!

    Hi @karljoaquin,

If you’ve imported the GTM container, you now have the “Consent Mode 7.0” tag. Meaning that you don’t have to perform the step “Downloading the template” as listed under “Configuring Google Tags with Tag Manager” in this article (https://complianz.io/consent-mode-for-7-0/) anymore.

If you’ve configured the Complianz Wizard according to the instructions as well, to enable Consent Mode support, you can now fire the Consent Mode 7.0 tag on “Consent Initialization – All Pages” so that the Google Tags in your container (which have built-in support for Consent Mode) can respond to these consent mode updates accordingly (even when fired on a trigger such as “all pages”).

You can still set the “Firing Trigger” of non-Google tags such as the Facebook Pixel to a Complianz trigger, e.g. (Default) Consent Marketing, so that these wait until consent for “Marketing” is obtained (as described in https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/ under “(Step-by-step) Firing tags based on consent in Tag Manager”).

But please know that this forum is intended for the Free plugin, so please reach out on support(at)complianz.io for questions regarding Complianz Premium features.

    Kind regards, Jarno

I didn’t pay for the premium version, but followed all of the instructions in the consent mode 7.0 article as well as the Definitive guide article. My consent doesn’t update when I accept my banner. Is this because we don’t have the paid version? Is it caused by something else?
