Uploading WebP Images to WordPress: Error Encountered

To do that, go to WP dashboard> Tools> Site Health> Info

Then expand media handling section, you will see information like this below.

There should be WebP, in ‘ImageMagick supported format’ or ‘GD supported file formats’, since you are encountering error you might not have that in the list.

So you should contact your hosting provider to update the PHP Imagemagick and GD, and mention also it’s for ‘libwebp’.
