    Hi,

I changed the db prefix of my main website (e.g. wp_). The website works fine. However, I am now unable to access my staging site. Please advise what I need to do to gain access to my staging site?

    Thanks

    Hello @rt98506

As long as you have not touched the tables that begin with wpstg[int]_ and belong to your staging site, this should have no effect on your staging site.

I can only assume that the action you applied somehow changed the capabilities of the staging site’s user table.

How did you change the table prefix by using a separate plugin or using manual SQL queries and following a tutorial?

However, I suggest deleting the staging site and creating a new one. This would be the easiest/fastest fix.

Also, If you created a backup with WP Staging of the staging site, you can create a new staging site and restore this backup on the new staging site in case there are things you want to keep on it.

    All the best
    René.

    Hi,

I used a plugin to change the db’s tables prefix. It changed all the tables prefix including the staging website’s tables. If I manually change the staging website database tables prefix back to wp_, will I then be able to open the staging website?

    Thanks
