Slideshow Option Not Appearing in Gallery

    Simple Lightbox was recently added to a website I write for so our writers can use the Slideshow function. I have used it for years on my own website without a problem but when I go to Create Gallery, the “Type” box which allows me to select “Slideshow”, below the “Size” box does not appear. I can send screenshots. All settings are the same on both sites. Please help.

    Hi, yes, screenshots would be very helpful in understanding the issue you are experiencing.

    Note that SLB does not currently add any options or controls to the post editor page.

    All of SLB’s options are on SLB’s own admin settings page. For example, when SLB’s “Group items (for displaying as a slideshow)” option is enabled, supported links are automatically displayed as a slideshow in the lightbox.

    Group items (for displaying as a slideshow) option is enabled but the slideshow option does not show when a gallery is created in the Media Library of the website. It DOES show up on my own website but not on the website that Simple Lightbox was recently added to. I do not see a way to attach screenshots. Is there a way I can send them, or do you have another suggestion to fix the issue?

    I do not see a way to attach screenshots.

    Click the “+” button in the message box and choose “Image”.

    Nothing has changed with the Slideshow Option not appearing when a Gallery is created on fwtmagazine.com. It works fine on my own site. My site, tropicaltravelgirl.com has used it for years and it shows “View as Slideshow” while this doesn’t show up on fwtmagazine.com. I use Jetpack on my own site; while fwtmagazine uses MonsterInsights. Does that have any bearing on this issue? If there are any other things I can share about it, please let me know. I have been looking at other plugin options that offer slideshows. The webmaster is saying slideshows slow down the site. What are your thoughts regarding this? Thanks.

    As previously-noted, SLB does not add any options to the post editor, so what you are seeing is possibly due to differences in plugins or settings between the two sites.

    The screenshots you referred to would be necessary to evaluate this further.

    In any case, SLB’s slideshow functionality does not depend on options in the post editor, only its own settings. If SLB’s aforementioned “Group items” option is enabled, but the slideshow functionality is not working in the lightbox, please provide a link to a page that exhibits this behavior and I would be glad to take a look.

    The webmaster is saying slideshows slow down the site. What are your thoughts regarding this? Thanks.

    SLB’s slideshow functionality does not slow down a site’s performance.

    The website where the plug-in is not showing a Slideshow option when I Create Gallery is FWTmagazine.com. The group items option is enabled. I do not know how to show you anything further unless I could send screenshots, but I have compared the settings between my own site where the plugin works for slideshows and this one, where it does not, and they match up.     Thank you for the screenshots. Those options on the Gallery creation dialog are likely added by a plugin installed on one site, but not on the other.

    I can also confirm that those options have no bearing on SLB’s slideshow functionality.

    If you are experiencing an issue with slideshow functionality in SLB’s lightbox, then the issue may be caused by another factor. Please provide a link to specific page that exhibits the issue and I would be glad to take a look.
