Since a few days our tracking has been gone from 100 to 0-10 visits. I suspect there is a problem with analytics. We never had this problem before while using years. Please help, how can we fix asap.

Hello @ib1222, thanks for opening a support topic with us and for sharing the screenshots which are helpful. As this is a recent drop off in Analytics and I can see your are based in the European Economic Area (EEA), this could be due to the fact that you are using Site Kit and Google Ads is connected?or?an Ads conversion ID is placed by Google Analytics. Could you please first confirm if this is accurate?

If the above is accurate then you will need to update to the latest version of Site Kit and enable consent mode for your website.

If this isn’t the case then I am also happy to check your setup if you could please share your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.??

You may also want to ask a question at the Analytics Help Center as we are limited on the support we can offer for Analytics but as mentioned above this could be consent mode related or I may be able to spot something in your setup so I’d be happy to check this all for you.

Hey, you are right. I have now enabled consent mode.
I see now: Install WP Consent API & Install consent management plugin . Are these 2 a MUST? Or optional.. because I don’t want it tbh.

@ib1222 When using consent mode with Site Kit you are required to have the WP Consent API plugin installed as well as a consent management plugin. At this time, we can only recommend using one of the two plugins listed here as these have been tested with Site Kit.

Any other CMP has not been tested so we cannot confirm if they work with Site Kit’s consent mode. We do plan on testing more CMPs over time and may add more to the list but at this time we’d recommend using one of the two in the guide.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

I really hope you test and add Cookie Yes to this list since it is many peoples favorite plugin for handling consent and cookies.

@linusl Thanks for your comment. We will certainly be testing this plugin in the future and any newly recommended CMPs will be added to our consent mode page.
