• Hello support,

New users are not added to the WordPress Users List. We can force sync, but then we need to manually ‘resend the confirmation email’.
How can we make sure that our new users, who’ve signed up to our site, actually get on the MailPoet ‘WordPress Users’ list and receive the confirmation email?

We also want to send the Welcome Mails. Even if they don’t want to receive the ‘Newsletter’ (Newsletter Mailing List, which is separate from the WordPress Users List).

    Please advise.

    Hello there @everine,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that you’re experiencing difficulties with new users not being automatically added to the WordPress Users List and the subsequent issue with them not receiving the confirmation email unless a manual sync and resend are performed. Here are the steps to ensure that your new users are added to the ‘WordPress Users’ list and receive the necessary confirmation email automatically:

    1. Ensure Sign-up Confirmation is Enabled: For automatic addition and confirmation of new users, sign-up confirmation needs to be active within MailPoet’s settings. Here’s how to check:

      • Go to MailPoet > Settings > Sign-up Confirmation.Enable ‘Sign-up confirmation’ to ensure that all new WordPress Users receive a confirmation email.

Subscribe in Registration Form Setting: This option should also be enabled.

      • In the same section where you enabled ‘Sign-up confirmation’, make sure the “Subscribe in registration form” is turned on.This ensures that new users who sign up through your site are immediately sent a confirmation email to opt-in.

Synchronizing Users: If you find that users still aren’t being added appropriately:

      • You can force a resynchronization by clicking on ‘Force Sync’. This option is available when you hover over the “WordPress Users” list name on the MailPoet > Lists page.

Regarding your desire to send Welcome Emails regardless of the subscription status to the ‘Newsletter’ list, you can:

    • Set up a Welcome Email specifically for the WordPress Users list. This will allow new users to receive a welcome email upon their registration on your site.

Keep in mind, sending emails to users who have not expressly opted in to receive a newsletter can lead to higher unsubscribe rates or spam complaints. It’s excellent practice to ensure that all recipients have agreed to receive your communications openly. For detailed steps, please do refer to our knowledge base article on The WordPress Users List.

We hope these steps resolve your issues, but if you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out
