I’m seeking guidance on thoroughly deleting and purging all database rows associated with the Ultimate Member plugin from my WordPress.com database tables.

I’m a novice at site administration and got tossed onto a site that was already up and running. After some organizational changes, I decided that I could delete all user accounts (except admin) along with the plugin to simplify the site. We were using Ultimate Member in conjunction with Download Manager to control access to files, but now they are all publicly available through Advanced File Manager.

When working on a separate issue with Advanced File Manager, I noticed the roles I made with Ultimate Member were still present, which led me down a rabbit hole of dropping tables and deleting rows with phpMyAdmin. I believe a clean slate might be the best approach to resolve and last issues. However, I’m unsure about the proper steps to fully remove ALL related data from the database. I have been doing queries for “_um” and the like, but I’m not sure why this stuff was not deleted with the plugin in the first place. I think I’m about 90% there, but I want to get it to a clean slate.

Could someone knowledgeable in database management or experienced with the Ultimate Member plugin kindly guide me on how to safely and effectively purge all rows associated with this plugin? Also, any info on why some stuff remained would be helpful. I want to ensure that no remnants are left behind to avoid future conflicts or errors.

Any insights, tips, or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated. Your assistance in this matter would be invaluable to me, and I’m eager to learn from your expertise. Thank you all in advance for your time and support. Thanks, – John

    Hello @iowa42

I recommend you to activate the UM again. GO to The Ultimate Member – Settings – Advanced – General – and enable the “Remove Data on Uninstall?” option. After that you could delete the UM with all data.

    Regards.

andrewshu, thanks so much. I did that, and everything seems to be gone now.
