Hi!

We don’t know if this is due to a recent update or if it’s been like this for a longer time. We have a product that has a large amount of variations:

The problem is that this product is not behaving like other products. Even though a large amount of variation combinations are not available, everything still shows up as if it was “in-stock”.

For example, this product is not even a combination that is configured in our store:

But for some reason the swatches display it as if it was “in-stock” but selecting it only returns a message “this product combination does not exist”.

Likewise for regular “out of stock” variations, the swatches still indicate that the variations are in-stock:

All our other products are behaving like they should. For example, this product displays crosses on top of all types of unavailable variations (both for configured variants and variants that are not even configured):

We have done quite a lot of testing on our end and managed to narrow down the problem to an issue with the amount of variants.

When we made a product that has over 100 variations on our test server we’re starting to see similar issues.

This one with 100 variants works:

This one with 101 variants doesn’t:

For a product this big and complex we’re quite reliant on the “out of stock” indicator, otherwise it quickly becomes unmanagable to try and browse the product to manually find products that are actually in-stock.

I’m seeing similar issues open in the support forum right now, but since it’s not clear if we’re having the exact same problem (the amount of variants being the problem) I decided to make this a separate post.

The “blur and cross” feature will work for up to 30 variations in our standard/free version.

Hi again!

We’re using the pro version and the issue we’re seeing is beyond the 30 variations limit of the free version you’re mentioning (we see these issues at 100)
