so ive made a popup with a close button and a link. I need it to open once per session on every session. However closing the popup and closing the browser will not reopen the popup.

Under Triggers i have an On Popup Close event, its set to 30 seconds because i dont know what else to add.

under Advanced i have ‘use session cookie’ ticked.

Its still not working for me, can i get some help please?

    Hi @warcher88,

Sorry to hear you’re seeing issues.

Could you send us a screenshot of your cookie setting? Is Site-Wide cookie also checked?

If you want to use a session cookie, you need to uncheck the site-wide cookie option.

You can learn more about cookies here: https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/358-popup-settings-box-cookies-option-settings

Let us know how it goes. ??

thanks for the quick response! yes i had site-wide cookie option checked, i have tried unchecking it but the problem persists. I cant see how to add private info or attach an image, what part do you need to see?

@warcher88 – It should also be noted most browsers state-save when you close, that is reopen exactly where you left off. To do this, they don’t close the tabs and clear session cookies, they persist them so you don’t lose login etc.

So really it might be time for us to retire those options as they are becoming barely useful these days.

Hi Daniel, so there is no way to make the popup apear on every visit? It can only be on a timer like every 5 minutes or something?

    Hi @warcher88,

You can also just remove the cookie altogether. The caveat is that your visitors would see the popup (if the trigger is time delay) on every page they land on while browsing your site. You can minimize this by setting up your popup’s targeting. See here: https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/235-standard-targeting-conditions

    Hope that helps. ??
