• My site consists mainly of a glossary plugin — LuckyWP Glossary. Relevanssi seems to search posts and pages, but I cannot find a way to make it search the glossary entries.

Also, a couple of questions: If a word is hyphenated, for example, step-down, will this search plugin return results if the user searches for stepdown without a hyphen?

Similarly, if a user searches for colour with a u, will Relevanssi return the correct entry of color?

    Thank you.

The Glossary plugin uses normal custom post type posts for the entries. Ensure Relevanssi is set to index the Glossary post type and that there’s no post type restrictions in the search.

You can control how Relevanssi deals with the hyphens. See “Hyphens and dashes” under “Advanced indexing setting” in Relevanssi Indexing settings tab. You probably want to use “Remove” as the setting; in that case, “stepdown” and “step-down” are considered the same.

Relevanssi doesn’t understand language, so it doesn’t know “colour” and “color” are the same. You can use synonyms (either in LuckyWP Glossary, if you set Relevanssi to index the synonym field, or in Relevanssi) to cover these.
