Exclude “long events” from [events_list]

I’m using the [events_list] shortcode in the site footer to display the titles and dates of the next 3 events. The complete shortcode is:

[events_list category=”82,85,1381″ limit=”3″]
#_EVENTLINK #_EVENTDATES

[/events_list]

This works great, except that there are several “long events” in the events list, including on-demand classes offered from February 1, 2024 to December 31, 2034. So they end up displaying in the footer instead of upcoming, single-day events.

Is there a way to exclude certain events from the shortcode output? Maybe using a tag or a secondary category?
