    Hi Roland !
Some servers are starting the upgrade to MySQL 8, the question is if Participants Database is fully compatible with MySQL 8.x ?
I’m aware that Participants Database has been compatible with PHP 8 since 2.0.2, but what about MySQL 8 ?

Some recommendation to users of Participants Database regarding the upgrade to MySQL 8 ?

Thanks, and shout out to Participants Database, the most useful plugin in the repository !!!

    Thanks for the praise!

I have not done any testing with MySQL 8, but the plugin relies on WordPress code for all its database interactions, and I expect all the compatibility issues to be addressed on that layer.

Take a look at this page for your reference: WordPress Compatibility

    Hi, thanks for the clarification!!
I’m following the updates to keep the plugin compatible with PHP 8, so I was curious?about what will happen when?MySQL 8 arrives to most hosting servers. So, as you said, the upgrade to MySQL 8 should be “transparent” to?Participants Database considering the current version of WordPress (since 6.4) is fully compatible.

    Thanks again!!

I have GoDaddy hosting and there is definitely an issue with the MySQL 8 compatabilty with the dashboard not loading in WordPress or at least taking 7 minutes or more to load. This is a great plugin so I am hoping to get it resolved soon.

    Thanks

Hi, tested with Siteground hosting, with no issues so far:

    MySQL version 8.0.36-28
    WordPress 6.5.2
    Participants Database 2.5.7

    Thanks for the feedback!

@jmooney2 please open a new thread for this, what we’ll be looking for is something specific that indicates the plugin is the source of the problem.
