• Hello,

    I have an issue with my main menu on Inspiro Lite. Apparently, the theme allows only one location for the menu. I have created a primary menu and set up the appearance, widgets and everything is working. However, with this theme I should be able to have primary menu showing horizontally at the top (as we see on the demos and the theme website) + if I want, the burger menu.

    To summarise, this is the menu I should have: https://demo.wpzoom.com/inspiro-lite/ – horizontal one + burger one.

    However on my website I only have the burger one and could not find a way to have the horizontal one while having Hero Area on the front page, and also on the other pages of my website.

    I spent days trying to find solutions and looked at the other support topics and also on YouTube, but could not solve it.

    Also do you guys know how the change the menu background from black to transparent?

    In the same topic, I have added some personalised css to show the word “menu” below the burger icon. it shows on phone and tablet but not on the desktop. can you please help me to show it on the desktop as well ?

    @media screen and (max-width: 1020px) {

    .inspiro–with-page-nav .navbar-toggle:after {
    content:”Menu”;
    display: block;
    color: #fff;
    font-size: 11px;
    margin-left:-1px;
    margin-top: 3px;
    }

    Thanks tons.

  • Hello, @jujoype

    Our demo doesn’t include a main menu and a hamburger menu one. Depending on the header layout you choose in Appearance -> Customize -> Header, the menu will be displayed inside or outside the hamburger menu.

    You can set the horizontal menu as the main menu and add an additional menu with the Navigation Menu widget in Appearance -> Customize -> Widgets -> Sidebar.

    The background color of the menu can be changed in Appearance -> Customize -> Colors. Also, make sure you use the correct page template for the homepage that supports a transparent header.

    If you want the above code to be also applied to the desktop version, you should either remove the @media?screen and (max-width: 1020px) {} part or check the classes of the hamburger menu on desktop and apply the same changes.

    Hello Ina,

    Thank you for your reply.

    So there is something I don’t understand with the menu: when I am in Appearance -> Customize -> Header, options shows that I have the possibility to have both main menu + hamburger displaying at the same time – see below. To me, the horizontal dashes are the main menu. but choosing any option, I don’t have this menu showing on my page.

    But on below screenshot which is my page currently, only the burger is showing while no menu titles as shown in Customise:

    —–
    I put into comments the @media screen and (max-width: 1020px) {} part and it didn’t change anything regarding the word “Menu” not showing on the desktop. Do you have any idea where the issue might come from?

    Also, I need this part in my code because if I remove it, my picture on the Hero Area does not fit well on phone and iPad unfortunately…

    Thanks for your help

    Hi, anyone able to help here please?

    Hi, @jujoype

    The hamburger menu is not the main menu. The hamburger menu is a sidebar and you can add a Navigation Menu widget or other widgets to it in Appearance -> Widgets.

    The main menu can be created and set in Appearance -> Menus.
    https://www.wpzoom.com/video/3-3-building-custom-menus/

    The hamburger menu will automatically display the main menu on mobile devices. So, if you add a Navigation Menu widget, two menus will be displayed.

    As for the code, try changing .inspiro–with-page-nav .navbar-toggle:after to button.navbar-toggle:after

    Hello Ina,

    Thanks for your feedback. I knew that the hamburger menu is not the main one. My issue is not really the hamburger menu; its the main menu not showing on my page.Onmy the hamburger one is showing.

    I created a main menu long time ago and I had no problem with the display using other themes. However; this main menu does not display on my page using Inspo Light. This is my issue.

    My main menu exists, see below snapshot (1) from “Apparence -> Menu”/ https://postimg.cc/XZ2N47QK and (2) “Customise -> Menu”: https://postimg.cc/jWC0664N

    It is just that since I switched to Inspiro Lite that this main menu doesn’t show anywhere on my page. A bit frustrating I admit; because Inspiro Lite is the theme I really want to use.

    Could you see any reason why?

    Thanks tons.

    Hi, @jujoype

    Make sure that in Appearance -> Customize -> Header one of the first 3 layout options is enabled: https://prnt.sc/FdIwXVt8Igtz

    I have the same problem. I have selected the first header layout, and the search icon and hamburger is showing, but not the main menu. Instead, the main menu appears vertically in the sidebar when I click on the hamburger menu.

    How can I get the main menu to appear horizontally as in the header layout?

    @jcl365 Do you see the menu in the demo of the theme?
    https://demo.wpzoom.com/inspiro-lite/

    Maybe you have a small display, as the menu automatically moves to the hamburger menu on devices smaller than 1020px width.

    Yes, thanks, that was it! I experimented with the typography and accidentally set the menu font very large. That made the menu disappear.

    Hello,

    @inamoro I already had one layout selected. But the menu is still not showing.

    @jcl365 do you mind sharing a snapshot of your typo settings?

    I tried modifying as per above feedbacks but unfortunately, still no luck. I know that it’s an issue with the main menu settings because the hamburger is showing; and if I decide to show the search icon or a logo, they are showing as well. I just have an issue with the menu; which I am struggling to fix.

    I have update my whole site to match with this Inspiro theme and will be ready to officially launch my site in a few weeks, it would be a headache to have to do some more modifications using another theme just because my main menu is not showing.

    Appreciate your help.

    The website is https://books.lotter.org. You can simply test if it’s the typography by pulling your browser window very wide. The menu would then suddenly appear.

    This is a bug in the scripts, in my opinion, because the menu disappears even though there is enough space for it. It also restricts the menu to 3 or 4 items – it there are more, it will become too wide and disappear.

    Hello @jcl365 thanks for your feedback.

    I tried zooming in and out on my page but the menu is still not showing. The background of the main menu (like the banner) is really thin, like there is actually no text. If I add a logo for instance, the background becomes thicker and the logo is showing. My menu is just not showing…

    I also created a new menu with only 3 items and played again with the window size – nothing.

    I am desperate lol.

    I just tried to with to another theme and the main menu is displaying without any issue – so its definitely a problem I have with Inspiro Lite theme.
