Is It Possible To Use Featured Image vs 1st Content Image?

    Question:

    Is there a plugin setting or perhaps a code snippet for enabling Social Media Auto Publish to publish a post’s Featured Image instead of the first image contained within the content body?

    The Social Media Auto Publish plugin defaults to using the featured image first. If a featured image is not available, it will use an image from the post content. However, the behaviour may vary if you are using custom post types, depending on the plugin settings or theme.

    I see this behavior now.

    For a few days I was observing inconsistency between which image was selected (all posts contained a featured image). I’m not certain what the cause of the image syndication inconsistency could be attributed to – perhaps a plugin conflict or a ghost in the machine.
