I received an email today ( from Hostinger) with the content: “Security issues detected on your site. We found outdated and/or compromised components in the following websites. Plugin: WooCommerce Legacy REST API.” Please help me, what should I do?

    Hi @aniady,

Was that the extent of the message/was there any other information or specifics?

Have you updated to version 1.0.1?

Nothing more beyond this message: ‘Security issues detected on your site. We found outdated and/or compromised components in the following websites. Plugin: WooCommerce Legacy REST API.’ I have updated the version to 1.0.1. This is the second time I’ve received such an email.

    Hi @aniady,

I checked in with Hostinger, and they indicated that this message appears if your version of the plugin is outdated (it’s basically a nudge to update to the latest version).

Of course, it sounds like you already have updated to 1.0.1, which is the latest version, so I’m not too sure why you received it.

    • Could you be mistaken? Might the update have failed, and you are still using 1.0.0?
    • Or, could the alert relate to a different site (perhaps even a staging site or similar) managed by the same host?

Last but not least, if everything is up-to-date but you still receive these messages, they suggested that deleting and reinstalling the relevant plugin may help. However, I strongly advise chatting to them yourself, as this is firmly outside our control.
