Hello and thank you for the help. We’ve been using Advanced Woo Search for a few months now and have noticed that some SKUs work while others don’t. We searched for other topics on this and they either aren’t the same issue or the thread is closed and we cannot reply, so we’re opening a new support ticket, thank you!

Examples: (#1) if you search for ‘MCSU-181912’, this product appears in both the AJAX and the full site search, however, (#2) if you try ‘MCST-114’, which is a SKU that exists at https://www.marlincrawler.com/product/80-series-steering-upgrade-kit, it does not work in either the AJAX popup nor the full site search.

I don’t know if this makes a difference, but the example #1, this is a Variation SKU, and for example #2 this is a regular Inventory SKU.

    There are plenty other regular Inventory SKUs that don’t work, such as ‘MCTC-5340’ (https://www.marlincrawler.com/product/turtle-shift-knob), ‘MCTC-1721’ (https://www.marlincrawler.com/product/full-rebuild-kit-21-spline), ‘MCAX-122’ (https://www.marlincrawler.com/product/hub-dial-detent-kit), ‘MCAX-241’ (https://www.marlincrawler.com/product/rear-axle-service-kit-1979-99-pickup-4runner-tacoma), and so on… ??

Other searches that do work: ‘MCTM-522’ [variation SKU], TOY-44200-60170 [standard SKU], ‘MCSE-1111’ [standard SKU], ‘MCTM-1011’ [variation], and so on… ??

So Advanced Woo Search is working for SKUs, just not all SKUs for some reason.

We have reindexed the table multiple times. We are using not using the ‘Advanced Woo Search’ module of Elementor to display the search field (seamless integration is turned OFF). Various settings (we haven’t touch much of these I don’t think):

“Search in” setting is configured for SKU (green YES)
    Hook query is ‘Default’
    Search rule is ‘%s% ( contains )’
    AJAX timeout 300
    Search words number 6
    Cache results On
Data to index includes SKU (green YES)
    Index variations On
    Sync index table On
    Run shortcodes On
    Minimum number of characters 2
    AJAX Search On
    Show loader On
    Show clear button On
    Show ‘View All Results’ On
    Mobile full screen Off
Search results are all default values I think..

    Thank you for any assistance!

    Regards,
    Huusoku

    Hi,

So also please check Search In option and make sure that SKU field is enabled for it – https://prnt.sc/vEXEo5yIoO8L

Another thing – check visibility options of those unavailable products. Make sure that visibility is not set to ‘Hidden’.

Thank you for the prompt response.

“Search in” setting is configured for SKU (green YES)

As stated above, indeed “Search in” setting is configured for SKU (green YES) as shown in your provided screen shot. ????

Regarding Hidden visibility, we have no content types (product, page, post, or otherwise) marked as Hidden.

Regarding Hidden visibility, we have no content types (product, page, post, or otherwise) marked as Hidden.

I believe you may test this for yourself by visiting the links provided above which are publically accessible.

Thought that came to mind: What if we change the ‘Search in’ setting for SKU to ‘No’, then Reindex table, then change it back to ‘Yes’, and then Reindex table again? Would that cause any affect to the way SKUs are retrieved duding your search?

I don’t think that reindex will help in that case.

About hidden options – I mean this one inside the product edit screen https://prnt.sc/SyyjGH_vlBBl
