• Hi there,

I’ve installed WordPress in my PC (Windows XP)and am using it to try and test different alternatives to my blog (editing, changing theme appearance, etc.), before publishing it. Because I also want to work on it while away of my pc, I’ve also installed it in my laptop (Windows 7). Is there a way I can have access to the same blog via my pc and my laptop (without having to duplicate on one machine what I’ve done on the other one, of course)? [my apologies to all of you for my my poor skills at using the technical lingo. I’m a complete beginner, so have mercy on me!]

  • is it a website that is already up and working that you have wordpress installed on? if so you should be able to go to https://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin and login with whatever your username and password is that you set and edit it from there… also i know when i set up wordpress on my linux machine one of the options during the installation asked if i wanted to allow access outside of localhost and i had to say yes so i could access from my laptop and when i was away from home

Hi vermithrax423, thanks for your message. My blog is not running yet, I’m just trying to learn and see how WordPress formidable and beautiful capabilities work, before going “live”. So, I guess the first part of your comment doesn’t apply to me, yet. As to the second part, that’s exactly what I’m looking for; unfortunately, I know nothing about Linux, so I installed WordPress on both my computers via Wampserver 2.0 and it didn’t offer me the option you mention. Any other suggestions? Thanks again!
