I’m keen to make the HTML email work too.

Just check this setting on the form edit page:
“Enable to receive email as HTML instead of plain text.”

Thanks so much for adding this feature! It works like a charm. In appreciation, I just sent you a donation. Thanks again.

I have another request that I hope you might consider. It would work something like this…

On every page of the site, there would be code that would record the referring URL when a visitor first visits the site (in a session cookie). For example, if they came from Google, it would record:

    https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=fast+secure+contact+form

If the visitor was to fill out the web form, there would be an option to include the referring URL as one of the fields in the form (not visible on the form itself) that would then be included as part of the email it sends. As an added bonus, it would be great if the referring URL was a field that was supported by the data export option. And even better would be if another field could parse referring URLs from the major search engines to show the individual key words.

This feature would be an invaluable for analytics related to search engines, and also analytics related to conversions in general.

Maybe I am just dreaming, but I would certainly be willing to compensate you with a generous donation if my dream were to come true.

Also, I would be more than happy to help with the effort in any way – writing specs, testing, etc.

Thanks for your consideration and for making a fantastic plug-in!

    Cheers,

    Dan

Ah, I had hoped I had missed something as I have already checked the ‘Enable to receive email as HTML instead of plain text.’ box.

My message window has a couple of tags <b> and <p>. The recived email does indeed appear to be an html email, but the bold and paragraph formatting is missing…

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong there? I take it there is no email template system anywhere for laying out the resulting email is there? I’d like to sticka line above the geolocation stuff to separate it from the main messag body and apply some formatting to the field names in the email (To:, Message: etc).

Thanks for the plugin – it is very cool.

    dlamprey,

Have you heard of my Visitor Maps plugin?

Install my Visitor Maps plugin and the sender’s city, state, country will automatically be included in the email footer. You also have to have the sender info feature enabled on the Contact Form Edit page: “Enable sender information in E-mail footer”

My Visitor Maps plugin keeps track of the referer, so I can make an update to be able to include that for the email message and the data export. Give me a few days.

How to have Geolocation included in the email footer:
    https://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/geolocation-for-the-email

martinpluss, one of the security features is to strip out user inputted HTML for the email. User inputted information generally should not be trusted. To do what you are trying to do, that security feature would have to be disabled. Are you sure you want to do this? I need some time to consider how.

Thanks Mike! I will definitely check out the Visitor Maps plugin and would love it if the referrer field could be included in the data export. If I can help with beta testing or in any other way, please let me know. Thanks again!
