    Hi,
I saw you were able to help someone by providing a script with this same error message I am getting but they were using OpenLayers and I am using Google Maps engine.

Error that appears under the search field.
“This address could not be found. WP Go Maps uses a 3rd party service (eg Google) to convert addresses to geographic coordinates. Unfortunately, the service has no records for this address at present. Please try an alternative format, or manually position the marker using right click.”

    THank You.

    Hi @inboxmedia,

Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time. I am sorry for the trouble you are having and I am eager to help you get this sorted as soon as possible.

I’ve just run a few tests on your site and search and found an additional log returned by Google within the console:

    • Geocoding Service: This API project is not authorized to use this API. For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API

As indicated by the error, it appears your Google Maps API project may not have been configured with all the services needed for map functionality. Specifically in this case, the Geocoding service seems to be inactive.

For reference, we require the following services to be enabled:

    • JavaScript API
    • Geocoding API
    • Places API
    • Directions API

Could I ask you to check your project and enable the Geocoding service, or let me know if it is already active, as this might indicate an issue with key restrictions on your project.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi, I replied to the email. Geocoding was disabled so I just enabled it but it was enabled when the error started and I disabled it while attempting (poorly ?? to troubleshoot.

I have enabled all the ones you suggested and sent back screenshots.

    Thanks.

    Hi DylanAuty,

While waiting on a response, I decided to just regenerate a new API key and now it’s working properly, at least for now. Thanks for your quick response and help. Not sure what was wrong with my existing API key but I will delete them and just use the new key.

    Thank you very much,

    Inboxmedia ??
