I have quite a few posts in my Instagram feed that are collaborative – meaning that the posts usually has more than just me as the author.

Why does these posts not show in the feed?

    Hi @frozenpanda,

Thanks for contacting us! This is due to limitations in Instagram’s API for retrieving Collab posts. It is only possible to retrieve these to display in your feed if your connected account is the original author of the post and you are using a Business profile connection to connect the account.

We also have more information about this here: https://smashballoon.com/doc/what-are-instagram-collab-posts-and-can-i-show-these-in-my-feed/

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Louis

Any idea how we can fix this? Much of our social media content is collabs as we feature other businesses that are part of our alliance. Please advise.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey @quietthunderdesigns,

Collab posts are only available in the Instagram API if they’ve been posted on the connected Business Profile, with other collaborators added. It is currently not possible to get any posts where you are added as a collaborator, but another account made the post itself. This is a limitation in the API from Meta’s end and there is unfortunately no way around it.

Currently, you are set up with a Business Profile and can display the collab posts that were posted directly by @safespaceslb, but not other accounts. As such the only solutions here would be to either post more from this account directly, or connect the other accounts as Business Profile and add them as sources.

    Best regards,
    Joel

    Hi Joel,

Thanks for the info. We are the author of the collab posts the majority of the time. Those posts are not coming through. Is there any way to get this to work? Please advise.

    Hi @quietthunderdesigns,

Please go to WordPress Dashboard > Instagram Feed > Settings > Manage Sources, click on the circled “i” icon for your connected account, and confirm that is shows “Business” as the connection type at the top (like this: https://a.supportally.com/i/38sKBu).

If it says “Basic” try removing the account and re-adding it, ensuring you choose Business as the account type.

Even if an account is set up as a Business account within Instagram, their API will allow you to connect to it with the Personal/Basic connection method, so this is one of the more common reasons you would be unable to see collab posts authored by your business account.

If this is not the problem, please send us a support request here on our website and we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    Thanks!
    Louis
