Very expensive for small / hobby sites

This is exactly my feelings on this. It makes economic sense to start charging for Jetpack, but then they decided to go with the business strategy of targeting whales (aka, One Percenters). I’ve never understood this strategy, because One Percenters are only ever a fraction of any customer base and so it’s like putting your eggs in one basket. No matter how big they are at the moment, whales can still fall or switch platforms. It makes more business sense to keep the large base of smaller sites happy than to drop all of them in favor of the few sites that are earning the most money.

We introduced a premium model for commercial sites to support enhancements and the development of new functionalities.
