problem uploading client's images

  • A client recently started having trouble uploading images to his site, so he sent one for me to test out.

    Sure enough, an internal server error occurs. No matter if I upload to a post or directly into the media library.

    However I have no trouble uploading images to his site supplied by others OR grabbed from the web OR screen shots.

    Tried downsizing the supplied image … no luck

    Tried doing a screen capture of the supplied image … no luck

    Tried opening the supplied image and resaving it as a different file type … no luck

    ideas anyone???
