I’ve used this plugin for years and always used my own custom page via wp-maintenance-mode.php in the wp-content folder. The latest incarnation of this plugin seems to ignore this. Is this not possible anymore? I don’;’t want to use a template.

    Hey @bronw3n,

    Thank you for using LightStart!

Indeed, the latest version of the plugin offered the possibility of using templates. However, you can skip using a template and use instead you own designed page – https://vertis.d.pr/i/4cqeZx.

Let me know how it goes!

    Best regards,

    hey Andreea –
Thanks for replying! That’s not what I’m looking for. I’m hoping that we can still use our own custom file (not a template or wordpress page), i.e. putting a custom-designed file named wp-maintenance-mode.php in the wp-content folder. Or has this function been stripped out of this new incarnation of the plugin?

    Hi @bronw3n,

Since you mentioned that the latest update may have caused the issue, could you please try rolling back to the previous version and see if you can achieve what you want? We’ve provided a guide that outlines the steps to rollback the plugin to the previous version, which you can find here:?How to Rollback Your Theme and Plugin.

Please keep us updated on how it goes.

Nope. That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about a very simple functionality that was part of the plugin before LightStart took it over. There is no information about this in your documentation, and since you have no idea what I’m referencing, I’m just going to assume it was stripped out when LightStart took over the plugin.

    Hi @bronw3n,

I wanted to let you know that there have been some new changes introduced in the plugin for users. Now, you have the ability to design a page with the Gutenberg editor and use it as a landing page or maintenance page for your site.

If you prefer to use the old version, you can still download it from this URL – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/advanced/.

I hope this helps. Thank you!
