For some reason the prefix changed somewhere. We’re you tinkering in the database or using an app that somehow changed the prefix for those tables?

If you look at your system report the prefix for all tables is

uIa81BA

but those tables are looking for

uta81ba

Do you know how to change the prefix for those tables? Let me know your skillset please and if not I’ll instruct you how.

Thank you, Stef. I attempted to change the prefix several days ago and blew up my entire website. That should say something about my skillset. ?? Curiosity and perseverance have gotten me this far. So yes please, I would appreciate instructions on how to do this.

Ha, got it. Well, super simple. Log into phpmyadmin and then click the database for which you are changing these. Then click the SQL tab.

Then place this in the box and click go.

RENAME table uta81ba_ TO uIa81BA_;

That’s it. Those tables should now be recognized. Here’s a screenshot

I logged into phpMyAdmin (there were two accounts listed but it seemed to be obvious which one I needed and, if I didn’t already have white hair, it would have gone white. A list of 117 tables with that prefix? I tried to select them all and then do what you described but got an error message.

At that point my hosting provider finally agreed to step in (he’s not a fan of WordPress) and see if he can fix things. So I’ll wait for him now and get back to you.

I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I don’t think I said SELECT all your tables. I think I even pointed the exact flow in my screenshot. 1, 2 and 3.

But I’m glad your host has stepped in.

I don’t think I misunderstood you. But your screenshot showed a very clear source, for your database and I encountered a list of 117 tables! I have no idea why my phpadmin looks so different from what you showed.

I don’t know if my hosting provider can solve it, he’s always said that he dislikes WP, but we shall see.

All WP databases are pretty the same. There was no need to touch any tables as I stated and showed in my screenshot.

1. Tap the DB that you want to change this for. Some folks have more than one DB in their instance
2. Then tap SQL tab
3. Paste the snippet I wrote for you
4. Click “Go”

That’s it. Nothing else to do. You can always take a screenshot of your phpmyadmin area.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing, whether or not tables are selected. This is the error message I get:

#1146 – Table ‘wp_woth1.uta81ba_’ doesn’t exist

And I checked again, but the table prefix in my database is actually uia81ba_. And I still got the error message #1146 – Table ‘wp_woth1.uia81ba_’ doesn’t exist

I don’t think you’re understanding what I stated above. That’s why you’re missing this. I don’t know how to better explain this. Do you NOT see the “T” in the incorrect table prefixes that I posted above?

Your prefix is with an “I” NOT a “T” and that’s why these tables are not being recognized. Please tell your host that. I’m scared of what you are doing.

Stef, I’m not that stupid. I copied and pasted exactly what you posted here. And the message I got from SQL was that it could not find any tables spelled with a t. It isn’t distinguishing the uppercase T from the lower case t. And when I took a second look at the incorrect code, I saw that what we were seeing as a T could also be an uppercase I (with serif).

And that’s what I’m seeing in the database: uia81ba_ Which would mean that the prefix is correct. So something else is wrong.

No one called you stupid. But if you look at your system report they’re at the bottom. Clear as day. I’m using uppercase to point out the LETTER not that it is uppercase. That’s irrelevant.

You also said earlier you selected all the tables when you first did this. That was not the process. So I’m going to bow out and let someone else help you.
