Where is the Checkbox to indicate a Virtual/Download item on the converted Gutenberg Single Product Block pages?

Will the WooCommerce Order Status Control* still work when the Single Product Pages are formatted into Gutenberg blocks? The reason to ask is the Block product pages do not have the virtual checkbox to declare a product different from a basic item, and therefore might not get treated properly to complete their status.

*WooCommerce Order Status Control – this allows virtual/downloadable products to change their status to “completed” after payment is verified, and not have to go through the proceeding step of “Processing.”

    Hi @fran4444

Where is the Checkbox to indicate a Virtual/Download item on the converted Gutenberg Single Product Block pages?

I couldn’t even locate the option to mark the product as digital or virtual, but I did come across the option to attach a file. However, attaching a file didn’t automatically mark it as a digital or virtual product.

Our product editor is currently in beta, and we advise against using it. We recommend sticking with the classic product editor for now.

I also submitted an enhancement request in our GitHub repo here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/47169

However, if you want to use the block editor to add product descriptions, you can activate it in the classic product editor. You can do this either by using a third-party plugin such as Block Editor For WooCommerce or by adding the code snippet we provided here.

Yes, this extension should automatically mark paid virtual/downloadable orders as “completed” instead of “processing”. However, for further clarification and per-sales question, Please contact us at Woo.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

    Thanks!
