Link to authors URL for single post comment author name and avatar not working

  • Link to authors URL for single post comment author name and avatar inside comment template not working.

    1. Go to a single post
    2. Edit site
    3. Click on avatar or comment author name
    4. Check “link to author url”
    5. Publish
    6. View on front end

    The user’s user name nor their avatar link to their profile. No link is in the html at all.

    I mostly use custom post types and realize this issue only seems to effect custom post types. This is a global setting and should work for all post types.

    However, my regular post type seems to only link to the homepage url instead of the author’s author page.

    Hi @gcskye – thanks for the report and the additional testing you’ve done here.

    Can I ask you to double check if this happens with any other themes as well? Or is it only happening with Twenty Twenty-Four?

    Also – it would help if you could share the URL of your site (one with comments) so I can check out the behaviour?
