Connection type ftps ssl missing and no error messages??
-
I have just recently installed wordpress on my own Linux system following these two guides:
https://rahulthewall.wordpress.com/2010/02/25/installing-wordpress-locally-on-gentoo/
https://wojciechbednarski.com/articles/installing-wordpress-locally-on-gentoo-linux
And all this went perfectly fine, but nether one of the pages mentions setting up ftp to use wordpress auto-update function. So I found this article to accomplish this:
https://praveen.kumar.in/2009/05/31/setting-up-ftps-using-vsftpd-for-wordpress-plugins-auto-upgrade/
But I have a weird issue with wordpress. For connection types under the connection information page I ONLY get the option for ftp.
There is no option or radio button for FTPS (SSL) like I have seen on screenshots.Does anyone know how to fix this?? Do I have to install something or change some setting??
Also I don’t know if this is part of the problem as well, but I click proceed on that screen wordpress does not present me with any error messages. It just loads a blank page with my menus still along the side.
Anyone have any idea why this may be happening… I have been trying to hunt down these issues for about a week with no success…
Any help is much appreciated!!!
