I’m very pleased with your plugin, but I have a problem I just can’t solve. After installing your plugin, Twitter no longer shows my WP featured images when I use your share button or even if I just post the link, whereas it worked perfectly beforehand.

It also continues to work perfectly for Facebook.

I looked at the source code and everything looks good:

<!-- START - Heateor Open Graph Meta Tags 1.1.11 --><link rel="canonical" href="https://rjsilverauthor.com/the-turd-heard-around-the-world/"/><meta name="description" content="When Amber Heard allegedly squatted on Johnny'Depp's side of the bed, the whole thing turned to shit."/><meta property="og:locale" content="en_US"/><meta property="og:site_name" content="RJ Silver"/><meta property="og:title" content="The Turd Heard Around the World"/><meta property="og:url" content="https://rjsilverauthor.com/the-turd-heard-around-the-world/"/><meta property="og:type" content="article"/><meta property="og:image" content="https://rjsilverauthor.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Turd-on-the-bed-2.jpg"/><meta property="og:description" content="When Amber Heard allegedly squatted on Johnny'Depp's side of the bed, the whole thing turned to shit."/><meta name="twitter:title" content="The Turd Heard Around the World"/><meta name="twitter:url" content="https://rjsilverauthor.com/the-turd-heard-around-the-world/"/><meta name="twitter:description" content="When Amber Heard allegedly squatted on Johnny'Depp's side of the bed, the whole thing turned to shit."/><meta name="twitter:image" content="https://rjsilverauthor.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Turd-on-the-bed-2.jpg"/><meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image"/><meta itemprop="name" content="The Turd Heard Around the World"/><meta itemprop="description" content="When Amber Heard allegedly squatted on Johnny'Depp's side of the bed, the whole thing turned to shit."/><meta itemprop="image" content="https://rjsilverauthor.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Turd-on-the-bed-2.jpg"/><!-- END - Heateor Open Graph Meta Tags -->

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Wayne,

    Thanks for the appreciation ??

I noticed there are duplicate meta tags in the HTML source of your website. You would like to keep only one set of Meta tags and then try social sharing.

    Hi,

Thanks for responding. When you say duplicate meta tags, can you be more specific? Also, this is quite a simple WordPress website that uses very few plugins and no custom code, so where would duplicate tags typically come from? Is this something I can control from the settings in your plugin?

Right click the web page, select View page source in the context menu and search (Ctrl + F shortcut key) for og:image meta tag. You will see there are two of these when there should be only one. You can deactivate all other plugins except this and then activate those one-by-one to check which is the one inserting extra meta tags.

So, it turns out, it’s your Open Graphs Meta Tag add-on.

Yes, as I mentioned, you had to remove one set of meta tags, either inserted by my plugin or by the other one.

Okay, thanks for all your help. I’ve kept your main plugin and dropped the Open Graphs add-on. Thanks for your excellent customer service.
