I am using an Astra theme with the Spectra builder to work on a new site. I have been working the site for a few months now and today was the first time I encountered the problem. I made updates to the site which reflect correctly when I view the site while still logged in. However, when viewing the site as a regular visitor (i.e. not via the backend platform) it does not reflect the changes correctly and has impacted elements I did not make changes to.

  • This is often a cache issue. Flash all the caching mechanisms you have on your site: plugin, server, hosting dashboard, even eternal CDN

If that doesn’t work, please provide your site address so we can dig in for you.

    Hi George,
I have tried deleting all caching mechanisms both through the caching plugin I use and on my browser multiple times and it still doesn’t work.

George is right, you’re almost definitely caching.

You’re using a minification plugin… those usually show you something different if you’re admin vs user. I’d check that plugin. Maybe even turn it off and check your results.

Hi @twistysnacks, thank you. I am using WP Fastest Cache. I had to delete the plugin and then reinstall it. I changed the settings one by one and checked after each one, and all seems to be fine now. I am a little confused though because I ended up with the exact same settings as before.

Thank you both for your help.

@biancaparker Unfortunately those caching plugins are really aggressive and persistent. But like I said, I’m willing to bet that it was related to the minification. Just a heads up, coming from someone with about 15 years of experience in WordPress, caching plugins (especially that one) are… not awesome. They aren’t as effective as manually fixing certain things about your site code and plugins, and they cause a lot of issues. The minification is, by itself, one of the biggest. I am happy to share tips privately if you’re interested

@twistysnacks Thank you very much. Yes please, I’d be grateful for some tips in this regard.
