    Hello Team,

A Meta account manager recommended that my client website follow the pageview event via CAPI. (his account receive only browserPixel PageView event for now).

As mentionned in this ticket in december 2021, Facebook for WooCommerce plugin is designed for sending pageview event only via pixel/browser.
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/page-view-event-is-sent-only-from-browser-facebook-for-woocommerce/

Currently, the “PageView” still only be sent via browser (navigator). And based on the Facebook development doc, it’s fine to send an event only from one of browser and server sides, even it can send different events separately from the browser or server according to scenario.

Sending pageview event via CAPI is it in the roadmap of the plugin ? I think it will be a great improvement as data privacy law from all around the world tend to remove tracking capabilities via third-party cookies. (eg : Chrome planning to abandon third-party cookies by 2024).

I think, this is important to send PageView event via CAPI in order to helping improve campaign performance on Meta, even if the ViewPage event is on the top of the marketing funnel : it is one of the first signal Meta algorithm can analyse to improve campaign perf., specialy when purchase event or others bottom of the funnel event is hard to get, for one reason or another (high ticket products for example).

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Best,
    Kevin Leclerc

  • Hi @kevinleclercwebdesign

Currently, the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin is designed to send pageview events via the browser only. However, we continuously work to enhance our products and services based on user feedback and industry trends.

While we cannot guarantee the inclusion of this feature in the immediate roadmap, it would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
