Adsense completely ignores “Exclude ads from logged in users”

Thanks for reaching out @dazman88. If you’d like to share the following I’d be happy to investigate this with you, in order to see what may be occurring:

1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
2. Has this just started to occur for you recently?

Once we have the above we can perform some checks. I’ll also perform some tests on my side given this is the first report of this. Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Just to confirm, I’ve been testing this and the AdSense snippet placed via Site Kit should not be placed for administrators if the configuration you are refereeing to regarding excluding ads is enabled. This is working as expected from the checks I performed on some test sites.

To determine more on what may be happening in your case, please share the information requested above. I suspect what may be happening is you have a manually placed AdSense snippet or a third party plugin related snippet placed. Such snippets can result in any types of ad formats appearing on your site, as Auto ads can be abled from such individual ad units.

Thanks for coming back. Yes, I am using single add snippets (from my Adsense account) throughout the front page. However, Is there a way to force these to respect the Sitekit setting? Some of these ads are specific for certain blocks so I do not want to leave it to auto ads to fill in the blank space.

If you’re allowing AdSense auto ads via your AdSense settings and you have any AdSense code placed outside of Site Kit, there is unfortunately no way for any Site Kit configurations to overwrite this setting. The “Exclude from ads” option only results in the Site Kit AdSense snippet not placed for administrators. Any non Site Kit placed snippet is not impacted.
