Hello I am receiving an error that reads “There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your?order history?before placing the order again.” and I am unsure if this is due to the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin, or WooCommerce itself.

I really need help fixing this issue:

    WordPress to 6.5.3

    WooCommerce to 8.9.1

    Stripe Gateway 8.30.

    Hi @newjerseycreative,

I can already see you opened a thread with a similar issue here. In that case, I’ve already replied to that thread.

I’ll go ahead and mark this one as solved. Let’s keep the conversation going on this thread.

    Cheers!

I resolved the ‘There was an error processing your order’ issue on my WooCommerce checkout page by following a helpful video tutorial, which you can find here. Specifically for handling Binance Pay issues, I successfully used the Advanced Binance Pro Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin. It worked effectively in resolving the problem for me!

I was facing the same issue 3 days ago. I have visited many blog and youtube video but finally found this blog post where shown the actual problem fixing. You can take a look over there.

Got an error when create first order in woocommerce wordpress,

Error like ‘There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.’

When Click on Create a new account CheckBox in Checkout Page. We have already Done plugin conflicts. But Still Get Error. We change woocommerce and WordPress all Old and New Version But Still the same Error.

@customizetheme did you setup smtp plugin there? If not then do it. Also, you can follow this blog post to solve. Check here

Yes, SMTP Setup Already Done. And Every Major Thing are Done. But Still Get Error

Rolling back to PHP 7.4 fixes this. But that’s definitely not a great solution. Need a real fix.

Thanks @ethan5150, I can confirm that rolling back to PHP 7.4 fixes this issue. We updated all software, installed SMTP, etc, but nothing worked until I saw your post.

With PHP 8 the payment was successful (payment via PayPal, the amount was charged to the client and tranferred to our bank), but at the customer side the message showed that “There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.” That resulted in multiple orders by the same customer in an attempt to pay, as a result of which we had additional work in refunding all those payments.

Hopefully someone can properly solve this issue so that we can migrate to PHP 8.

Hi @ckadenge, I noticed that the other thread was closed, so hopefully you will see my above post.

    Hi @siswmm

I noticed that?the other thread?was closed, so hopefully you will see my above post.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

However, I suggest that you start a new thread with your case, so that we don’t mix several troubleshooting sessions in one thread.

Even if the symptoms are the same, perhaps the underlying problem is different in your case.

    If your woocommerce log look similar to this;
“2025-01-15T07:19:25+00:00 Critical Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 127930368 bytes)”

just extend wp memory limit, php memory limit from your current setting to upper value (like, 512 to 1024 mb or more)

and make sure your server are up to date
