    Hello support,

Today I got stressed up with Stripe and Woocommerce integration.

Background: I have been using this plugin since years and orders used to come in without any issues. All good.

However, recently I noticed that there were some failed payments with stripe and when I tried to do a test payment myself, I was given an error. So I updated the plugin to latest version 8.3.

After that I am continuously getting this error on every attempt to do a transaction

“There was an error processing the payment: The provided PaymentMethod was previously used with a PaymentIntent without Customer attachment, shared with a connected account without Customer attachment, or was detached from a Customer. It may not be used again. To use a PaymentMethod multiple times, you must attach it to a Customer first.”

Before that, the error used to be like this –

“There was an error processing the payment: The payment method type “link” is invalid. Please ensure the provided type is activated in your dashboard (https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/payments/settings)?and your account is enabled for any preview features that you are trying to use. “

So, I feel if you fix the first error, I will be given error 2 as fallback.

I had 3-4 hours of chat with Stripe support. But nothing helped. All 3 operators said – Talk to woocommerce support as it is their plugin. Something like that.

Also, I have tried – 8.3, 8.2 versions of your plugin.

    Please help me fix.

There are no errors in Woocommerce status logs.

  • Hey there, @charliexstanford ! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Have you made any changes to the website recently? This could be adding or removing plugins or custom code, updating the theme or plugins, etc.

Can you please share the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support so we can take a look?

Also, did you have Stripe debug mode enabled? If you didn’t can you please follow the steps below?

    • Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Advanced
    • Enabled debug mode and save the changes
    • Try to run a test order to trigger the issue, this should generate error logs
    • Go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and look for Stripe errors
    • Share them with us

Can you also please share a screenshot of WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Account details?
I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Looking forward to your reply.

At the moment, stripe plugin 8.0 is working without any issues.

8.3, 8.2, 7.9, 7.4 all were producing some sort of errors.

8.0 can be downloaded by going to Advanced view on this WordPress plugin page.

    At this time my setup:
    WordPress version – 6.2.3
    Woocommerce – 7.7.2
    PHP – 7.4.33

    Hello charliexstanford

    Thank you for your reply.

I am glad that you were able to find a temporary solution by using WooCommerce Stripe plugin version 8.0. However, it would be wise to investigate this issue and find a permanent solution.

I would need information that is requested in our last message.

I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com
After that, you can paste the Gist link here in your reply.

Can you also please share a screenshot of WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Account details? I recommend using?https://snipboard.io.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

Hi ?? To clarify, did you already have a chance to test with?Stripe version 8.3.1, or otherwise?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
