IIS Login Redirect Fix for 1.5 in 2 Steps
-
First off, just got the software, and it looks awesome. Although I did run into the redirect problem for IIS. After a few trial and error sessions, as well as some deep digging on the forums, I was able to put some of the useful, if not in-depth, information together and was successful. I am only posting this to help other users fix this problem quickly, without having to dig all over the forum. Follow these steps after you have downloaded WordPress 1.5.
Step 1: There is an awesome guy named Toby who has created some fix files for the IIS issue (I can take no credit for any of the fixes, I am merely documenting). Download the .zip file at https://www.simmonsconsulting.com/wordpress/?p=164
Step 2: Extract the .zip archive, and in your main WP1.5 folder, replace the files that are included in the archive. Note: make sure you get the files out of the folders, don’t just drag the folder, or you will overwrite needed files in your WP1.5 install.
Now you are ready to install WordPress 1.5 to your IIS server. Follow the instructions that came with the 1.5 install. Make sure to perform the 2 step process above before you upload anything to the server, or create the tables.
This may be redundant info for the forum, and if so take the post down, but I hope it may help someone else down the line quickly resolve the problem, and not give up on WordPress. Thanks again to Toby, your a good man :).
