• Newbie here. Ia€?m trying to install the FCKeditor plugin but cana€?t see FCKeditor under my a€?Plugin Managementa€?. Ia€?ve unzipped and uploaded the FCKeditor files into a sub-directory Ia€?ve created: /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/fckeditor/

(FWIW, Ia€?ve successfully uploaded new a€?Themesa€? which I can see under my a€?Presentationa€? tab).

Is it okay to place a plug-in in a sub-directory or must all individual plugins be placed directly in a€?pluginsa€? (with no sub-directories)?

Must the a€?fckeditor.phpa€? file be directly in the a€?pluginsa€? directory? Ia€?ve tried this but I still cana€?t see FCKeditor under a€?Plugin Managementa€?.

    Any ideas?

What on the fckeditor site made you think you could just drop it into the plugins dir on WP? I can’t see anything referencing WP support. OTOH, there’s a thread on integrating TinyMCE (another editor) into WP where a poster talks about the possibility of *integrating* fckeditor. Doesn’t sound like it’s as simple as tossing anything you downloaded from fckeditor.net into WP’s plugin dir.
