To be compliant with Facebook CAPI, this plugin seems to perform api calls on the woocommerce_add_to_cart_hook. This severely slows down the front-end and makes the UX feel sluggish.

Is there any way these calls could be pushed to action scheduler to delay the call so the user experience isn’t hampered?

    Hi there @hnwp ??

Thank you for reaching out about this. As I understand, you are noticing a slower performance due to the Facebook for WooCommerce, on your site. Could you please elaborate further on your findings, with logs, metrics, or screenshots, so that we can see what you are describing?

Logs can be shared here via our quickforget.com service.

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few free options:

There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I don’t have any screenshots, but I measured the time elapsed via microtime() before and after woocommerce_add_to_cart and saw a 2-5 second time delay.

Can we push this api call to the background?

    Hi @hnwp

Currently, the plugin doesn’t have this feature built-in. However, it’s possible to customize the plugin to achieve this, but it would require some advanced knowledge of PHP and how hooks work.

I recommend you create an enhancement report directly in our GitHub repo, so that our dev team can review it and give you more insights.

You can also ask for insight related to those on either the WooCommerce Advanced Facebook group or the WooCommerce Community Slack. Many of our developers hang out there and will be able to offer insights into your question.

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get some further insight/information.

    Hi @hnwp

I’m marking this topic as “resolved” due to recent inactivity. If more assistance is needed, feel free to post back here or open a new topic.
