Hey there, @favoridecor! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.
Can you please share some screenshots to help us investigate this further? I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.
We need screenshots of:
- WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping
- WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone
- WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone > Click on edit on each shipping method so we can check the specific settings
- The cart/checkout page with the issue
Looking forward to your reply.
Have a wonderful day!
Hello, please find the screenshots?:
Hey, @favoridecor!
Thank you for the screenshots.
I can see you have different tax classes and some of them have a minimum fee of 1,99.
Are you sure this product is not in this shipping class?Looking forward to your reply.
Have a wonderful day!
Hello,
Yes, for some ?tax classes?a minimum fee is 1,99, but it’s 5 + minimum fee:
5 + [fee percent=”5″ min_fee=”1,99”]
Hi @favoridecor
Based on the formula you’ve shared, if a product is in a tax class with a minimum fee of 1,99€, the shipping cost would be calculated as follows:
5€ (base fee) + 5% of the product price (0.05 * 19,35€ = 0.9675€, which is less than the minimum fee of 1,99€)
So, the shipping cost would be 5€ + 1,99€ = 6,99€
However, to get the shipping cost of 8,99€ for the Plinthe MD008 product, you need to increase the percentage or minimum fee in the formula.
I hope this provides some clarity. If you have any other questions or need further clarification, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m here to help!
I’m totalu agree with you that according the formula the shipping cost would be 5€ + 1,99€ = 6,99€
but as you can see from the Screenshot it’s 7,42€ and I don’t understand where it comes from
Hi @favoridecor
The discrepancy you’re experiencing might be due to tax calculations. If taxes are applied to shipping costs, this could account for the difference you see.
Your screenshot shows a total of 7,42€, which suggests a tax rate of approximately 6.4% is being applied. I recommend checking your tax settings in WooCommerce > Settings > Tax to ensure they’re configured correctly.
You can set 20% tax and it would add 1,40€ to the shipping cost, making it 8,39€ in total.
I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
The tax already set to 20%
How is it possible that a tax rate of approximately 6.4% is being applied if it supposed to be 5% according the formula or a constant value ? Where comes from this 6.4% ?
Hi @favoridecor
The 6.4% I mentioned earlier was an estimation based on the difference between the expected shipping cost (6,99€) and the amount you see (7,42€). However, if your tax rate is set to 20%, this estimation doesn’t apply.
The discrepancy might be due to other factors. For instance, additional fees or charges might be applied. It would be helpful to check that no other plugins or settings interfere with the tax calculations. If you’re using a caching plugin, try clearing your cache.
If you’re still experiencing this issue after checking these possibilities, you can share a screenshot of the TVA 20 and product tax settings.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Please find attached the screenshots
Hey, @favoridecor!
Thank you for the screenshots. From what I see on them, the taxes shouldn’t be affecting the shipping.
Do you have any plugins that could be affecting the shipping or taxes?
Can you please run a conflict test to confirm if something external is interfering with this?
To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.
If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.
— Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.
— Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.
— It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.
You can find more about this in this guide.
Please let us know about your findings.
Have a wonderful day!
Hello,
I don’t have any plugins that could be affecting the shipping or taxes
https://snipboard.io/9HNeIY.jpg – seems that a formula doesn’t work at all 5 + [fee percent=”15″ min_fee=”3,99”]
5 + 14.51 = 19,51 != 12,26?€
Hello favoridecor
Thank you for your reply.
I was able to get the result as you expect after I set the taxes to zero.
Here is the calculation of my checkout page.
15% of 58 = 8.7 rounded to 9.
9 + 5 = 14Here is a screenshot of the formula I used.
Please have a look at this and let me know if this is what you are expecting.
Looking forward to your response. ??Best regards.
