With the major update, the single event page has changed significantly, and no longer looks like the screenshot you provide on your plugin’s page. The event photo is at the bottom, with a large space between the event title and picture and event description, and “owner” now shows up again as the organizer – though I could have missed it, I don’t see a setting to hide the organizer. Looks like the date is now showing in the USA time on single page, but not on the event listing (??). Too much. We’ve rolled back, and are not sure what to do from here.

Did you really completely change the single page, or do we need to look deeper?

    Many thanks.

I sincerely apologize, though I’m sorry to see my post with issue the details and screenshots has been deleted. I tried to edit this original post with better details and screenshots, but by the time I was finished, the topic was no longer editable.

I made another post because: We like this plugin, but the plugin’s support usually replies with either a “we didn’t change anything” or “works for us” type answer, and then marks the issue as resolved – when it isn’t – which is exactly what happened again. So, when they replied to this original post with a “we didn’t change anything” type answer, I replied and marked this original one as not resolved. Hope that makes sense and I really do apologize.

I will update this post and see if they reply – though I’ve never known them to reply to something they’ve marked as resolved…

    Sincerely and respectfully,
    Kim

    Additional, and clarified, information:
All items are on the SINGLE EVENT PAGE

    1. Version 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 “break” the site header.
    2. The organizer shows as “owner” above the featured image.
    3. The CREATION date of the event (NOT the actual event date) shows above the featured image.
    4. There is now a large gap between the featured image and the event date and description.

    Screenshots can be found here:
    https://imgbb.com/S7nC8SC (Version 3.5.3)
    https://imgbb.com/Jk5tvsy (Version 4.0.0 & 4.0.1)

Please advise when these issues will be fixed.

    Many thanks -Kim

    Hello @wardencenter

Thanks for your feedback and reporting the issue. We understand your concern, but please allow us to explain that earlier we were just trying to update you about our changes in EventPrime 4.0. But we understand that it may have led to some confusion, and we apologize for it.

Coming back to the issue itself, the problem you’re experiencing with the site header breaking is likely due to your current theme not having a header.php and footer.php. This issue is common with block themes that do not include these files.

Our team will launch a fix with upcoming version of EventPrime 4.0.2, and we will escalate the launch date to be asap too.

In the meantime, to resolve this.

    • ?You can disable Pretty URLs by navigating to “Events” -> “Settings”. Under the General tab, go to the SEO subtab and disable the “Enable Pretty URLs” option.
    • Alternatively, you could switch to a theme that includes header.php and footer.php files. This change will ensure the page displays correctly.

I hope this information is helpful.

    (@wardencenter)

Our theme DOES use a header.php and footer.php. We are using Blocksy.

Because of this, and to make sure you see this info, I have changed the topic to “unresolved”.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the further inputs @wardencenter.

We will be launching the fix for this within next couple of days. The next release is in fact focused on the layout fixes for block enabled themes.

We will keep this ticket marked as “unresolved” till the fix is live and verified by you.

Your feedback is highly appreciated and will help us improve our product and services.

    Hi @wardencenter,

The fix for the reported issue went live with version 4.0.2

Please verify and let us know your feedback.

    (@wardencenter)

I can verify that version 4.0.2 breaks the single event page. When you click to see EVENT details, you’re taken to the venue details page and NOT the single event page.

I have put the status back to “unresloved”

    Thank you,

    Thanks for sharing the screenshots.

According to the first screenshot you shared, there is an “Event Detail” page listed under the dropdown of the Events Page. Please ensure that the [em_events] shortcode is correctly placed on the Event Detail page.

I do not understand your answer. Also – I have once more marked this issue as “unresolved”.

    1. Each single event page is created automatically by EventPrime when an event is created – is it not??
    2. The problem I am having is with the SINGLE EVENT pages, NOT the event calendar listing.
    3. “em_events”, from your own documentation, “will render the events calendar on the frontend”. Our calendar is rendering correctly. Rendering the calendar is not the problem. The single event page is the problem.
      * FYI: The “em_events” shortcode is properly placed on two pages where our event calendar resides but, again, the event calendar is not the problem. The single event page is the problem.
      * The page “-Event Details” was created by eventprime, not us. We do not use this page BUT it is a working page and contains the shortcode “em_events”.

    Thank you,
    Kim

    Hello Kim (@wardencenter),

We will not mark this as “resolved” till your confirmation. And I apologize for any confusion caused previously.

Please allow me to explain that to ensure the proper linkage between your event listing/calendar page and individual event pages, it is crucial to correctly assign pages within the Pages tab. We have observed that the “Event Details” page has been set as the events page. This page should instead be one that contains the [em_events] shortcode.

Additionally, please note that the [em_events] shortcode loads content conditionally. It depends on the URL— if an event ID or slug is passed with the URL, it will load the single event page instead of the calendar.

If you still need further assistance or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

    Thread Starter wardencenter

    (@wardencenter)

As I stated, the “em_events” shortcode DOES exist on the page, “-Event Details”. Again, the page “-Event Details” contains the shortcode “em_events”.

Therefore, “Events Page” in settings is correctly assigned as “-Event Details”.

Finally, it might be worth me noting again that everything worked as expected -with the same settings, pages and events- prior to the version 4 updates. We are currently running 3.5.3 with everything, including the single event pages, working as expected.

    Thank you,
    Kim
