    Hello.

So I have not fully tested this but have read the description and quickly checked out the demo. Unless I’m missing something (which I probably am which is the reason for this topic/question), is there no way to simply link by SKU? I seen the filter options in the demo which seemed to maybe allow me to select another product, but not the variation of that product.

Linking by attributes don’t really make too much sense to me. It’s bulky and an incredible amount of extra work. WooCommerce already has a SKU as well as a Quantity for that SKU. Why not just use that?

I’ve used an extension for Magento that was incredibly simple and basic but worked perfectly. You simply link SKU numbers together and that is it – nothing more to it (takes 5 seconds). And the bonus: when I update the product cost/qty using the SKU, all the linked products would automatically update to the new QTY for the SKU they are linked to. No need or requirement of updating separate groups or something. To create groups and separate quantity groups and to have to update those separately is just not feasible for anyone trying to run an efficient business. Or they only have a couple products.

Unfortunately, I can’t really find something like this for WooCommerce. But maybe hopefully this plugin can actually link by SKU and be done? And can I link by SKU using a CSV file? I will have hundreds of products to link, I cannot be doing them manually.

Thanks in advance for your time

    Hi @ddapparel,

You’re not missing anything. Linking by SKU doesn’t fit the functionality we’re trying to offer for the simple reason that WooCommerce doesn’t allow products or product variations to use the same SKUs. That’s why you’ll have trouble finding plugins that allow you to do this.

Attribute stock also allows very complex stock setups, many of which just aren’t possible with the constraints of regular product stock. This is why attribute stock items are used, to separate your stock from your product listings.

But of course this might not be feasible for all types of stores. That said, we’re always looking to make different types of stock setups easier to set up and manage, so we’d love to hear more about the specific stock functionality you’re trying to achieve.

    Hi @mewz

Thank you very much for the quick response it’s greatly appreciated.

I have been working on my project and didn’t really have much time to explore this yet. But I have now been able to and it seems it might do what I need it to. Unfortunately, I was struggling with seeing it really work without purchasing (I wasn’t seeing the available amount changing on the product page) and was thinking I just couldn’t get it to work. But I did see you explained in the description the reason is because it is free that we won’t see it. So I took the risk and purchased it. And glad I did, it’s actually more flexible than I thought and believe it will do what I need.

Unfortunately though I did have to contact you with a question and a possible request – hope you don’t mind.

In any case, I’ll mark this thread solved because it is no longer relevant (you’re right, linking by attributes is pretty powerful). But I do thank you again for the quick response, it gave me more confidence in purchasing the paid version.
