Multisite – Site #2 not showing

The domain for the 2nd website must point to the same hosting in the DNS as your main website. You must therefore store the DNS data identically in Cloudflare and ensure that the domain is known in your hosting. If you have any questions, please contact your hoster’s support.

I figure I need to create the subdomain in C Panel manually. That is done, but the subdomain does not show within C panel. I am trying to do a WP 1 click install, However I only see main domain.

I don’t know cpanel that well, but you would have to add the additional domain as an add-on domain or alias domain to the existing hosting. What you have done is obviously added another hosting, which does not lead to the goal. Your hoster’s support team should be able to tell you how to do this.

Ok – after quite some struggle, I finally see my site heptados.com

Being log’ed in on the Multisite as Super Admin I have access to all sites from Dashboard. However, this new site redirects to WP Login!? So apparently the admin account was created in the subdomain, but not in the new domain. How can I create this super admin, so that I can access all sites and their dashboard?

To whom it may concern… Setting up Cloudflare Registrar, C-Panel Domain and finally WP Site:

1) Do not setup the site in WP first! Wait. I you did, delete it and start over later.

1a) Register domain at Cloudflare and set up DNS Records. You need A Record – Name mysite.com – Point it to the IP of your top site.

2) Login to cpanel of your host and go to Domain > Create Domain > Name mysite.com. Set Document root to public_html …. the same as the main install

3) In C-Panel > Zone Editor…. Make sure mysite.com shows. Here you can manage records, however it should work as is.

4) Also for mail setup, you have DKIM SPF, that you need over on Cloudflare for mail record. You can have Cloudflare auto setup and then apply keys in respective records if you wish host mail server to execute as opposed to Cloudflare routing

5) Jump to WP Dashboard for Multisite go to Sites > Add New Site and fill out the fields…. save

6) Go back and edit this site and change site name to not sub site but mysite.com

Note: Cache persistently obstructed the display of my site. So for the browser CLEAR CACHE NOW!

Still no access to backend dashboard for the new sub site…. Why? How can I fix?

The domain you mentioned above does not currently exist in the DNS. You have to create it in your domain management and have it point to the IP that your host or Cloudflare tells you.

Can you be more specific? I have tried everything and I don’t know where what is missing? Domain in post 1 was changed to heptados.com. At this domain I am loged out and cannot sign in as super admin

Do I need to preserve the old subdomain?

And then how do I point above domain to that subdomain???

Does any well written manual exist on this? Or better a Youtube video where Cloudflare is Registrar – Host through Cpane – Multi Site WP

Yes, WordPress specifying the domain is absolutely correct and feasible. Since this domain points to a WordPress web, I think its domain setting is correct.

Have you also defined https://heptados.com as the main domain for the WordPress multisite? This should be done via an entry in wp-config.php:

define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'heptados.com' );

Attention: omit the protocol (i.e. https://) before the domain.

hepados is NOT the main site of the multisite and neither should it be. Another site is.

its a subdomain with heptados url. Is it correct or broken? Why is super admin not signed in as it is for all other sites?

On a multisite, can I only create subdomains for it to work:

Can I not on a multisite have

  • google.com

etc. I don’t f***’ing get this, and it’s driving me nuts

Still cookie error when trying to sign in as super admin. And that means I cannot administer this site!!!!
